Tasting Notes

A classic Clos CheValle expression of Syrah bolstered by high-toned Viognier aromatics and pleasing herbal touches from whole cluster inclusion. Aromas of wild raspberries, violets, bacon fat, spice and lavender all lead to a suave, silky, medium palate with chewy tannins and bright acidity that culminates in a herb and mineral laden finish.
Luxuriously framed, but with a pleasing hint of rusticity, the equivilant of a suit with cowboy boots.

  • Aging: Clos CheValle Block H Syrah co-fermented with 25% Whole Cluster Block I Viognier. MLB conducted in 30% new french oak puncheon, aged on primary lees for 18 months. Unfined, unfiltered.
