2022 Double D Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
Overview
2022 Double D Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
Tasting Notes
Hand Harvested, destemmed and optically sorted. Selection from Blocks 13 and 16, this cab opens
with a bouquet of cassis, graphite, and seductive oak spice. The palate shows incredible concentration, offering a rich and seamless mouthfeel with notions of red plum, churned earth and chocolate dipped caramel. Finely knit acidity frames the silkened tannins, adding freshness, finishing long and fragrant.

"This pure Cabernet is focused and compelling, giving a clear expression of the vineyard and the grape and the terroir. That said, the previous vintage included Malbec, Franc and Merlot in the blend, which added extra depth and detail. So it’s a stand-off flavor-wise. Do you want the focused purity of a single grape, or the extra dimensions of a well made blend? Taken for what it is, this wine packs a lot of power, with rich red fruits, caramel, mocha and silky tannins. It’s smooth and immediately appealing with mid-range ageability." - 94pts. Paul Gregutt
"
Deeply structured and a bit brawny, with lilting accents of cherry, red currant and mint tea that end with full-bodied tannins. Drink now through 2032." - 90pts. Wine Spectator
"Ripe blackberries and blackcurrants on the nose, together with hints of chocolate, mocha and smoked spices. Plush and juicy on the palate with full body and a smooth, polished texture. Vivid finish. Drink or hold." - 91pts James Suckling
