Technical & Tasting Note
Production Method -
Hand harvested blend of clones 174, 383 and Phelps from rewnowned Boushey Vineyard, destemmed and fermented in stainless steel. Aged for 18 months in 30% New French Oak puncheon. Bottled un-fined & un-filtered.
Winemaker's Note -
The 2023 Boushey Syrah unfolds with a beautiful sense of purity and focus. Ripe blackberries, hints of red fruit, green olive and bacon fat define the aromatics. The palate unfolds with finely knit tannins, and lifted red fruit. Pleasant notions of churned earth and oak spice balance the fruitful character of this wine finishing with purity, power and richness.

"Almost black to the core, with penetrating aromas of blackberries, bacon and hay bales. This one-time Syrah came about due to winter damage to the Rocky Pond estate vineyard that led to a need for purchased grapes. A Boushey Syrah is a fine stand-in. A dense tangle of tart berries, chamomile tea, clean earth and lemon rind, this well-knit together wine should continue to develop beautifully for the next decade." - 94pts, Paul Gregutt
