Additional Winemaker's Commentary: Celebrating 20 years of Clos CheValle Vineyard, the 2025 Clos CheValle Pinot Gris is the first of three Clos CheValle vineyard designated wines produced in 2025. Sourced from the J Block, planted in 2005, the gnarly twenty year old vines produced a gloriously concentrated Pinot Gris. The light glacial till soils and sun-drenched slopes evoke ripe fruit character while maintaining acidity and impart a mineral sensation in the wines. To honor the varietal's Alsatian roots, the Pinot Gris was fermented in both neutral oak barrels (for texture) and stainless steel drums (for tension), allowing for gentle lees influence without distracting from the delicate floral and fruit expression.
